Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely, never in plain text).

Your library and wishlist data. Titles you add to your collection or wishlist, along with details you enter — shelf location, price paid, watch count, and your rating — are stored so we can display your library back to you across sessions and devices.

Usage data. We collect basic technical information automatically, such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, to help us understand how the site is used and to fix bugs.

Cookies and affiliate tracking. When you click an affiliate link to a retailer, that retailer (or their affiliate network) may place a cookie to track that the purchase came from Fill My Shelf, so we can be credited with a commission. See our affiliate disclosure for more detail. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-party services we use

To operate Fill My Shelf, we rely on the following categories of third-party services, each of which has its own privacy practices:

• Database and authentication (Supabase) — stores your account and library data securely.
• Movie metadata (TMDB and OMDb) — provides cover art, synopses, cast information, and critic/audience ratings for titles in our catalog.
• Transactional email (Resend) — sends account-related emails, such as signup confirmation and password reset.
• Affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, CJ, Impact, FlexOffers, Awin) — used to generate affiliate links and track qualifying purchases, as described above.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and maintain your account, library, and wishlist
• Improve the site and fix technical issues
• Track affiliate commissions when you make a purchase through our links
• Communicate with you about your account, if necessary

We do not use your library or wishlist data for advertising targeting, and we do not sell your personal data.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete items in your library/wishlist at any time.
• You can delete your account and associated data yourself at any time from your account settings. This is immediate and cannot be undone. If you'd rather we did it, contact us at fillmyshelf@gmail.com.
• If you're in the EU/UK or California, you may have additional rights (such as data access, correction, or deletion requests under GDPR or CCPA). Contact us and we'll respond in accordance with applicable law.

Data retention

We retain your account and library data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required for legal or legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).

Children's privacy

Fill My Shelf is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "last updated" date above.
